An audiovisual presentation in Leonardo’s Birthplace
The story of a genius – tridimensional technologies working for a revival of Leonardo’s universe in its most intimate and personal aspects, that have been hidden for so long. The first to resurrect is the relationship between Leonardo and Vinci – the town where he was born – and the Montalbano hills, reflected in his numerous paintings that unequivocally testify his persistent visiting of those places. A full-size hologram, intertwining video, performance and a documentary, gives voice to an old and tired Leonardo, that turns his eyes to the past, narrating about the acquaintances, studies and events that defined his devotion to that place. An interactive multimedia application Leonardo Touch represents pictorial and graphic works of the artist through various kinds of thematic research, and allows interacting with drawings and paintings, so that you will be able to discover each detail.
In the farmhouse nearby the Birthplace there’s a section dedicated to Cenacle, and the only Leonardo’s wall-painting, visible till nowadays, is a digital reproduction of “The Last Supper”, projected onto the wall at the ratio 1:2. The technologies used for the exposition offer a possibility to explore the painting in two different ways: gesture recognition and “touch screen”, which make it possible to access different types of thematic content (iconographic, historical and cultural, related with restoration).
You can reach Leonardo’s Birthplace by car o by bus; it’s connected to the village by Strada Verde, an antique path about three km long, that can be easily covered by foot.
